About Stade Jean-Bouin
The original Stade Jean-Bouin was built in the 1920s and named after French athlete Jean Bouin, who died during the First World War. The stadium was completely rebuilt and reopened in 2013 to a design by architect Rudy Ricciotti, who is renowned for his striking use of concrete latticework. The new structure features a dramatic perforated concrete façade that has earned widespread architectural acclaim. It sits on the same site as its predecessor, directly beside the Parc des Princes in west Paris, and was inaugurated in time for Stade Français to return to a modernised, purpose-built home ground.
