About Bernabeu
The Estadio Santiago Bernabéu opened in 1947 and was designed by Spanish architects Luis Alemany Soler and Manuel Muñoz Monasterio. Named in honour of Real Madrid's legendary president Santiago Bernabéu Yeste, the ground has been expanded and modernised several times across its history. It hosted the 1982 FIFA World Cup final and multiple UEFA Champions League finals. A sweeping redevelopment completed in the early 2020s added a retractable roof, a new retractable pitch system, and a striking curved steel façade, transforming it into one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in the world.
A European football institution, the Bernabéu can generate an electric atmosphere on Champions League nights in particular, when the famous white-clad support fills all four tiers. The redeveloped bowl improves acoustics noticeably, making crowd noise more intense. El Clásico fixtures against Barcelona and Madrid derby clashes against Atlético produce some of the most charged atmospheres in global football.
Bernabeu is one of the most in-demand places to watch live sport and entertainment in Madrid, with room for around 81,044 fans on a big night. Staadly lists verified resale tickets for every event here, all-in priced and backed by the 100% buyer guarantee.
