About Signal Iduna Park

Signal Iduna Park — originally known as Westfalenstadion — was built for the 1974 FIFA World Cup and opened in 1974. The stadium was designed by architects Auer+Weber. It hosted matches during that World Cup and again during UEFA Euro 1988 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup, including a semi-final. Successive expansions across the 1990s and 2000s grew its capacity significantly, with the iconic standing south terrace — the Südtribüne — becoming one of the most famous stands in world football. The stadium was renamed Signal Iduna Park in 2005 following a sponsorship agreement. It remains the definitive home of Borussia Dortmund and a landmark of German football culture.

Signal Iduna Park is widely regarded as one of the most atmospheric grounds in world football. The Südtribüne, a colossal standing terrace holding over 24,000 fans on matchdays, generates an extraordinary wall of noise and colour. The famous "Yellow Wall" of Dortmund supporters creates an intense, passionate atmosphere that has earned the stadium a fearsome reputation among visiting clubs throughout Europe.

Signal Iduna Park is a landmark destination for live events in Dortmund with a capacity of about 81,365. Whatever you're here to see, Staadly's verified listings and interactive seat map help you find the right seat at the right price.
