About Parc Olympique Lyonnais
Parc Olympique Lyonnais was built to replace Olympique Lyonnais's former home, the Stade de Gerland, which had become too small for the club's ambitions. Designed by the architecture firm Populous, construction began in 2013 and the stadium opened in January 2016. Its inauguration match saw OL face Troyes on 9 January 2016. The stadium hosted several fixtures during UEFA Euro 2016, cementing its status as a world-class venue. It has since staged UEFA Champions League knockout matches and major music concerts, quickly establishing itself as the centrepiece of Lyon's sporting and entertainment landscape.
The bowl design, with tiers steeply raked and close to the pitch, creates a loud and intense atmosphere on big European nights. The ultras groups in the Virage Nord drive much of the noise, with coordinated chants and tifos adding visual drama. Away supporters are housed in a dedicated section, and the compact sightlines mean even upper-tier seats feel close to the action.
Parc Olympique Lyonnais is one of the most in-demand places to watch live sport and entertainment in Lyon, with room for around 59,186 fans on a big night. Staadly lists verified resale tickets for every event here, all-in priced and backed by the 100% buyer guarantee.
