About OVO Hydro
The OVO Hydro opened in 2013 as part of the wider Scottish Event Campus (SEC) redevelopment on the banks of the River Clyde. Designed by the renowned architect Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the arena was purpose-built to bring world-class live entertainment to Glasgow. It played a central role in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, hosting aquatics events. Originally known as the SSE Hydro, it was renamed the OVO Hydro in 2021 following a sponsorship change.
