About Estadio do Dragao
Estádio do Dragão opened in November 2003, replacing FC Porto's former home, the Estádio das Antas. It was designed by the renowned Portuguese architect Manuel Salgado of the RISCO architectural firm. The stadium was built specifically to serve as one of the host venues for UEFA Euro 2004, held across Portugal. It hosted several group stage matches as well as a semi-final during that tournament. The ground takes its name — "Dragon Stadium" — from FC Porto's iconic dragon emblem. In 2021, it hosted the UEFA Champions League Final between Manchester City and Chelsea, cementing its status as one of Europe's premier football venues.
