About Oasis
Oasis are an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1991, originally made up of Liam Gallagher on lead vocals, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs on guitar, Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan on bass and Tony McCarroll on drums, with Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher joining shortly after as lead guitarist and principal songwriter. They became the defining group of the Britpop era, with their 1994 debut album Definitely Maybe followed by the hugely successful (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995 and Be Here Now in 1997. Anthems such as Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger, Live Forever, Supersonic and Champagne Supernova turned them into a generational phenomenon, and in 1996 they famously played to enormous crowds across two nights at Knebworth House. The band abruptly split in 2009 following the long-running rivalry between Liam and Noel, after which both brothers pursued acclaimed solo careers. They have sold well over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Oasis on tour
After years of speculation, Oasis reformed in 2024 and embarked on the Oasis Live '25 Tour, their first live shows since the 2009 split. The tour began in July 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and travelled across the UK, Ireland, North America, Mexico, South America, Australia and Asia, with the band eventually performing dozens of sold-out concerts to more than two million fans across multiple continents. Liam Gallagher has indicated there will be no further shows during 2026, describing it as a period of reflection, though he has suggested the band could potentially return in 2027, and there has been press speculation about future UK and European dates.
